Bagan Lalang, Selangor

 Bagan Lalang is an alternative holiday spot in the coastal Selangor other than Morib. It is actually located in Kampung Sungai Pelek which is within the district of Sepang. It is easily accessible via the North South Highway, The LEKAS Highway which leads initially to the town of Nilai. After about 45 minuts drive you will eventually come to the Sungai Pelek town and a further 10-15 minutes drive will lead you to the Bagan Lalang Beach.

We left home about 11.00 am and reached our destination about 2 hours later. The last time we were in Seri Malaysia Bagan Lalang was about two years ago. Not much had changed since then. Upon arrival we checked in at the Seri Malaysia Hotel. Checking in was not a problem as we would normally pre-book our hotel much earlier. The rate for a family room is RM160.00 as it was not a weekend rate nor peak season.

Morib Beach Revisited....

As promised in our previous blog to Morib beach, we were quite impressed by the oulook of the Impian Morib Hotel, and so here we are on the last day of the year spending the night at the hotel.
The travel from our house in Selayang took us from the Middle Ring Road 2 to the KESAS highway and right through the Maju Expressway.

This is a different route from the road that we took on our earlier visit. We then turn off in State road 81B right to the Banting town. On this trip we passed through towns with peculiar names such as Olak Lempik. The other towns that we passed through are Kanchong Darat, Telok Panglima Garang, Tongkah, Simpang Morib etc...
We reached Impian Morib Hotel at about 3.00 pm. Checking in was a breeze as I had made booking a day earlier. Our Superior room was RM180 (weekend rate) and furnished with 1 queen bed and a single bed (the hotel allows up to 5 pax for the Superior room). This was perfect as my son would have his own bed to sleep in. Our room was at the ground floor and is remarkably spacious. Amenities and clealiness was good. We had selected ASTRO channels and also a mini fridge in the room. The room also has a french window that overlooks the swimming pool area.
The pool was quite big compared to some other hotels that we had been to.

Happy New Year 2011 Wish from Us.....

We have braved through the year 2010 with courage and determination and it's now time for us to welcome 2011 and continue that to achieve our goal throughout 2011....

For both myself and my wife and our son, we hope to be doing a lot more travelling and blogging in 2011. I leave the year 2010 with good wishes and a very Happy New Year to visitors of our travelogue...

Morib Beach Daytrip.....

It was the Christmas holiday and we were having lunch at a food court in a hypermarket in Selayang when my wife suddenly said "Let's go to a beach !". Port Dickson automatically comes to mind as that is the nearest beach  from Kuala Lumpur. Wait, we're forgetting another beach which was about 86Km from where we were at. "Let's go there then...", said my wife and my son was excited as well. He has never been to Morib.

And so we set out to Morib at about 4pm.Going through DUKE highway, New Klang Valley Expressway, Kesas and the Klang -Banting road towards Morib Beach.  Having exited the highway, we continued our journey through the state road passing towns of Banting, Telok Panglima Garang, Telok Datok, Kanchong Darat etc. It was already about 5.30 pm when we finally reached the Morib Beach.

Jom Heboh @ Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur December 2010

This is our 2nd time to the Jom Heboh carnival which is an annual event by TV3, one of  Malaysia's leading commercial TV station. As always, you will find booths from TV3 itself and companies which anticipates in this annual events. products from the companies are packed in bags and mostly were sold at RM10.00 per bag. Concerts were also held and most booth had celebrities performing live.

Langkawi Vacation 2010 - Part 3

Our 3rd day started wuth a hearty breakfast at Bayview Hotel Langkawi which we had checked in the day before. The Flamingo cafe was much more spacious than the one in Citin Hotel and the breakfast was also much better. The food was warm and varied. There were traditional and western styled breakfast, coffee and tea, fruit juices and cut fruits.

Langkawi Vacation 2010 - Part 2

We reached Citin Hotel about 4pm. The hotel looks newly renovated (as mentioned in their website). This was no 5-star hotel but I would highly recommend to budget traveller. There was no problem checking in as we had earlier booked the room online. As we head for the room on the 1st floor, we were greeted by a nice cosy but rather small room. There were no lift but the staff was kind enough to carry one of our luggage for us right up. Our room fronted the road but being in Langkawi with very little traffic, there were virtually no undesirable traffic noise from the outside.
